Fasting in Egypt
Egyptians are proud to say, ‘do you not enjoy Ramadan, if not fasting in Egypt’. The celebration of Ramadan has started since the first day of dawn. Some children wake to dawn. Piles of leather that has become a drum, beaten with passion.
After sunset, the mothers with small children around the city carrying fanous. Fanous made of glass that had been destroyed, and then recycled. Now fanous been made of plastic with tiny lights. Fanous sold with the model and the price is quite high. Since most, sold during Ramadan only.
